Tallinn Day 6. Departure / Rapture – www.pedalto.org

Thoughts turning mostly to home  occupied FMU, an end to the Oligarchy of Two and their bureaucratic journey across Europe. Not before witnessing one last Pedalto mission.

The meeting

Mack

Tom

Archeologists

Report as follows;

FMU checked their bags which were packed according to all protocols, security checks and health and safety regulations. Time for one last mission FMU met up on the corner of Latimaa and Gordori the site for the new proposed Tallinn Art Institute or academy. The site and build had been offered up for an architectural competition. Pedalto were here to represent the architect Francois Blanciak. Although Francois was unsuccessful, Pedalto decided to make the case his design at the site to the passing public. A leafleting campaign and a talk describing the design took place at the site.

The rest of the day was spent in preperation for departure.

Conclusions from this blog will follow in a publication, talk and exhibition of findings coming soon. 001,2,3 and 4 would like to thank you for following this journey

Tallinn Day 5. SK8

Report as follows;

FMU were yet again deterred from their doomed beech visit due to the inclement weather. Instead 001 made an application on behalf of 003/004 Meg and Charlie for a visit to the Childrens Museum as featured in this bizarre you-tube footage – Luckily Diletantide Avangard weren’t there!

After the morning of sanctioned playtime FMU made their way over to Polymer Culture Factory and were greeted by Leena Luther and Elizabeth

FMU watched RULAVÕISTLUS the first annual skate competition followed by a superb performance entitled Müsteerium by Erik Alalooga the senior lecturer at the Tallinn Art academy.

Tallinn Day 4. Life and Soviet Women

A wet day in Tallinn – beach postponed FMU spent the day at Kumu Contemporary Art Gallery and then 002 Nathaniel took part in a Life Drawing Marathon at the Culture Factory at Polymer.

Report as follows;

The contemporary art gallery in Tallinn is situated in the well-heeled part of town outside of the Old Town and away from the City Centre Kumu makes up 1 of 4 art institutions under the Museum of Estonia banner. The space is a new one and is very similar to the art gallery in Helsinki.

An impressive installation was a room filled with busts with an interesting sound work functioning in the background.

The best exhibition was a collection of portraits examining the Estonian portrayal of women during Soviet occupation. FM001 reflected on the role of teacher and education.

Later that evening 002 ventured out after the remaining FMU were sleeping to attend the 24 hr Life Drawing Marathon. FM002 Nathaniel made two studies which studiously avoided the life model as a protest against observational drawing. For a full explanation applications can be made under the freedom of informations concerned with artists ego’s and oeuvre act.
